THE B.S.T. COLLECTION Ex Eric P. Newman Collection, as noted on the insert. This is the SINGLE FINEST graded 1844 business strike quarter that has been certified by either PCGS or NGC. While considered to be a "common" date, it is quite challenging in any Mint State grade, especially in CHOICE or GEM grade. Eric Newman famously stored many of his fabulous coins in old albums or kraft envelopes, which imparted gorgeous concentric bands of rainbow toning that surround brilliant silver centers. This one is stunning with a razor sharp strike and a thick satiny frost that accents the great color and gives life to the stunning surface quality. PCGS 2, NGC 3, CAC 2.
