- A gorgeously toned example of this late silver quarter, tied for FINEST certified by either service. While its technical quality is all there, it is the amazing double sided toning that makes this coin truly special! When we pulled this coin out of the box, we were floored by the amazing visual allure. Both sides are awash in a psychedelic, Technicolor pattern. Every color of the visible spectrum is seen on the obverse, ranging from neon to pastel golds, blues, greens, oranges, purples, reds, etc. The reverse toning is mostly in the orange/red family, but it is no less vivid or vibrant. An intense cartwheel luster really brings every subtle difference in the color to life. This is easily one of the most beautifully toned Washington quarter of any date or grade we have had the pleasure of selling. PCGS 34, NGC 22, CAC 12. There are only five in MS67+ and only one has ever sold in auction, realizing $24,000 in August 2019.
