- GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1840/37-NG MA/BA. Nueva Guatemala Mint, Assayer "MA/BA". NGC MS-62. KM-4. Five mountains with radiant sun rising, date below; Reverse: Ceiba Tree divides denomination. No other examples at this numeric grade with the highest certified example showing on the population reports being MS-64 at either NGC or PCGS. Great strike detail in the leaves of the Ceiba tree. Attractive iridescent tone with peripheral honey, an azure sun face and faint toffee and parchment on the obverse. Lovely rose toning fills the reverse fields, with highlights of iridescent navy blue and cinnamon throughout. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000. Provenance: From the Richard Stuart Collection. NGC MS-62.
