- Ex. Col. E.H.R. Green and Eric P. Newman Collections. A beautiful and totally original, Condition Census example of this important Red Book variety. A very impressive, nearly GEM example boasts a beautiful look evocative of classic album toning. The peripheral toning takes on teal, gold, peach, champagne, and russet toning that frames both sides. Pearly-satiny lustrous surfaces glow in the centers bringing out soft silver-champagne tones. Sharply struck from heavily clashed dies; the devices are razor sharp in definition throughout. Clearly one of the FINEST KNOWN examples of this very popular overdate, with perhaps as many as three coins that have graded finer at PCGS, the finest being the Kaufman-Pogue MS65+. PCGS 8, NGC 5, CAC 6. This coin sold for $22,325 as lot 33342 in the November 2013 sale of the Eric P. Newman Collection, and that is the most recent appearance of a CAC-approved coin (then graded MS64 by NGC). The aforementioned Kaufman-Pogue coin is NOT CAC and sold in September 2015 for $70,500. A real prize for any Capped Bust half nut, who collects only high end, Condition Census quality coins! We know there will be a fierce bidding war for this one when it crosses the block! Cert. Number 25316301 PCGS # 6101
