- 1857-S Liberty Head Half Eagle. Small S. AU-53 (PCGS). CAC. An important find for the Liberty Head half eagle variety enthusiast, this is the only Small S example of the 1857-S certified by PCGS to date. It is an original honey-orange coin with a tinge of deep olive evident. Boldly defined overall with a smooth appearance to surfaces that retain appreciable remnants of soft mint luster.
