- Ex Tall Grass Prairie Collection, as noted on the insert. Rich peripheral toning creates rings of color around brilliant, shimmering silver centers on both sides. Obviously this coin sat for ages in an old cardboard album. Lovely blues, greens, golds, and roses come to life in a light. The fields have a pleasing watery texture, rippling when rotated in a light. A few tiny ticks, accounting for the assigned grade, can be found with the aid of a strong glass, but they do not mar the handsome visual appeal. Only 470 Proofs were struck. PCGS 17, NGC 6. The most recent example sold for $6,900 in the 2020 FUN auction and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $7,500. A challenging date that becomes very expensive any finer.
