- 64.1 grains. A richly original example with hints of peripheral olive to otherwise reddish-copper surfaces. The former color is associated with some light, ancient surface build up whose presence does not give reason for concern. Both sides are hard and frosty, the design elements sharply to fully defined with just a hint of rub engaging the high points. Survivors of this final year Hibernia farthing issue are much scarcer than their 1723-dated counterparts, and even our extensive offerings from the Sydney F. Martin cabinet in recent years brought forth none that can compare with this Choice AU from the Richard August Collection.
