- URUGUAY. Paysandu. Exposition Silvered Plated Bronze Award Medal, 1880. PCGS SPECIMEN-58. By A. Vera. Diameter: 42mm. Obverse: Two female allegories facing one another--one seated left, presenting wreath, and the other kneeling right, presenting fruits; around and in background, implements of the arts and industry, including books, palette, engine, bushels of wheat, and train, along with horses in a stable; radiant personification of the sun rising over mountains; plow in exergue; Reverse: National coat-of-arms. Pleasingly toned and barely exhibiting any evidence of handling, this SCARCEtype stands as an enchanting type with great iconography. Estimate: $75 - $150.
