This is the SINGLE FINEST 1875 Proof Indian Head cent in the Red Brown category, and it stands alone as the only PR67 example of this date in any category. Vivid, blazing red mirrored fields have a bold depth and clarity. The mirrors are exceptionally smooth, and clean, free of any distracting marks, flecks or any other kind of mark of any kind. The eye appeal is exceptionally high end and wonderful. Only 700 Proofs were struck. PCGS 1, NGC 0. This coin has never sold in auction, freshly graded. Unpriced in the Collectors Universe Price Guide and the only auction comp for the date that seems relevant is a nearly decade old NGC PR67 BN record that brought $5,750 back then.
