- A SUPERB tab toned Roanoke! Everything about this high end and visually impressive example screams originality. Clearly this coin sat for ages in the original cardboard holder of issue. We just love the richness of the purple and pink tones, that grace the obverse with accents of light green and gold. The reverse is where you see the distinctive pattern to the toning that forms concentric rings of color and original silver where the coin came into contact with the paper and the open air. The visual impact is dramatic and truly wonderful, the color complimented by a vibrant mint brilliance that brings the subtle differences in hue out. The strike is bold and crisp, and the surfaces are virtually flawless. WOW! PCGS 520, NGC 263, CAC 229. PCGS has graded 100 in MS67+ with just 33 finer.
