- 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar. O-109, T-16. Rarity-4. Two Leaves. Good-6 (PCGS). Pleasingly original dove-gray surfaces with glints of powder-blue undertoning evident as the coin dips into a light. Wear is a bit uneven and most extensive along the obverse border from 9 to 1 o'clock, where the denticulation is gone and there is some merging of the border with the peripheral design elements. All features are at least partially discernible, however, and most design elements are boldly outlined for the grade. Smooth in hand, this is a desirable circulated type candidate from the brief, historic, and challenging Flowing Hair half dollar series of 1794 to 1795. Tompkins Die Stage 4/1. PCGS# 6052.
