Softly frosted surfaces are veiled in warm dusky pewter and golden-apricot patina. The design is boldly rendered with the border denticulation complete and most features sharp. There are no marks or other blemishes of note, and were the luster stronger this coin would be a contender for a Gem Mint State grade. It qualifies as Condition Census for the 1818 Browning-2 dies, nonetheless, as there are a pair of MS-64s (different coins) included in the roster published in 2010 by Rory Rea et al. The Generation 1.2 PCGS rattler holder adds further appeal for this enticing uncirculated type candidate from a challenging early quarter series.
