- The 1918-S is a conditionally challenging date, especially in full RED and in this lofty state of preservation. GEMS are VERY RARE! Lustrous with hints of gold, while slightly mellowing brick red. The eye appeal is further enhanced by a crisp strike and problem free surfaces. Visually and technically borderline GEM quality, the eye appeal is high end. PCGS 3, NGC 0. A PCGS MS64 RD sold for $1,320 in August 2021 and a PCGS MS65 RD sold in June 2021 for $5,760. We are disregarding the published levels and think this one will see strong bidding. Cert.
