- 1888 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-101. MS-66 (PCGS). CAC. An outstanding condition rarity from a limited mintage of 12,001 circulation strikes. Vivid multicolored peripheral toning frames centers that range from brilliant (obverse) to golden tinged (reverse). Highly lustrous and smooth throughout, a razor sharp strike rounds out an impressive list of physical attributes for this lovely Gem. Thanks to hoarding at the time of issue due to speculation in the issue's limited mintage, the 1888 is only moderately scarce in lower Uncirculated grades through MS-64. Coins grading MS-65 or finer, as here, are rare and always result in strong bidder competition whenever an example appears at auction. PCGS# 6370. NGC ID: 24L3.
