- 1922 No D Lincoln Cent. FS-401, Die Pair III. Weak Reverse. MS-63 RB (NGC). CAC. This handsome piece is awash in a bold blend of medium pinkish-rose color and dusky gray-brown patina. An ever-popular variety, the 1922 "Plain" has been adopted by Lincoln cent specialists as an integral part of the series, and pleasing examples are eagerly sought in today's market regardless of certified grade. The most popular of all are the pieces struck from Die Pair II, with a weak obverse and a strong reverse, followed closely by the die pair offered herein. Examples of all die pairs are particularly desirable when they retain at least some of the original mint red color. Coveted CAC approval further confirms the significance of this condition rarity.
