- 1914-D Lincoln Cent. MS-64 RB (NGC). This Denver Mint issue is actually much scarcer, in higher Mint State grades, than the universally accepted 1909-S VDB key date. The currently offered near-Gem example is well struck, with excellent detail on Lincoln's hair and beard, and on the reverse wheat ears. Lustrous and blemish-free, with a few minute carbon flecks that seemingly keep it from an even finer grade designation.
