详细说明: 1901 Liberty Double Eagle. Proof-64 Deep Cameo (PCGS). CAC. An exceptional example for the specialist of this series. The Deep Cameo designation is the most desirable and is usually found on only a handful of Proofs of any given year from this series, if at all. The present coin is fully brilliant with deep frost on the devices that stand tall and seem to fall away from the mirror fields. Minimal signs of handling are present when closely examined and the surfaces are a delight for numismatic study. Notice the orange-peel texture noted in the fields, which is found on certain Proof gold coinage of this era. The original mintage was 96 pieces for the year, from that perhaps 40 to 50 are known today. An exceptional coin for the specialist and destined for a first-rate collection.
