D.W. COLLECTION. SUPERB! Highly reflective, yet somewhat lustrous GEM copper-nickel fields dance in a light. The surfaces have a soft sky blue, golden tan, and olive patination that is original and totally eye appealing. Razor sharp in strike, the details are fully and crisply rendered on both sides. Exceptional in terms of overall quality and eye appeal, it is hard to imagine a finer Proof Copper Nickel Indian Head cent. Only 550 were struck. PCGS 25, NGC 29, CAC 24. Don't let the pops fool you, its been almost 2 years since the most recent example sold in auction, realizing $3,290 in a November 2015 auction. Currently, Collector's Universe offers a value of $4,000 in their Price Guide. Only 2 coins have graded finer at PCGS, but neither has sold in auction.
