Liberty nickels in Deep Cameo are quite rare relative to their mintages and survival rates; the 1909 is a case study, with just 18 graded in the designation between PCGS and NGC combined. The presently offered example is bested by just three in the designation. Incredibly deep mirrors beam boldly and with an intense reflection and brilliance. There is a stark black and white contrast between the thickly frosted, sharply struck devices. A faint blush of the clearest, most subtle gold can be found when the intense mirrors hit the light. The eye appeal is SUPERB! PCGS 8, NGC 2, CAC 3. This is the sole PR66+ DCAM graded by either service. It does not appear to have sold in auction, and no DCAM, regardless of grade since 2017.
