What a great Barber dime in all regards and ranking among the very best 1899 dimes that exist! A glowing satiny mint luster swirls under gold, olive and teal-green and touches of rose and orange color that cling to the peripheral devices. The strike is strong, with complete definition throughout. The eye appeal is SUPERB, and this is a head scratcher as to why it did not sticker at CAC. PCGS 4, NGC 2. The most recent example to sell realized $3,643 in the 2016 FUN auction; that same coin sold in the Central States 2015 auction for $5,405. There is just a single PCGS MS67+ finer, a coin that brought $5,875 in the 2016 FUN auction. Clearly POP TOP Barber dimes have come down from their highs (in August 2006, a PCGS MS67 sold for $11,500), making this a great time to build a set. This 1899 would make a great addition to any superb set. Cert. Number 35448112 PCGS # 4818
