- Mintage: 930. 2 graded PR-64+ CAM, 38 higher at NGC. One astounding wunderkind at NGC actually grades MS-69 "star", which the cataloger mentions to exemplify the superb technical skill with which proof Morgan dollars of the era were manufactured. The most fragile imaginable dusting of apricot patina dusts over the surface of this visually arresting jewel, but does nothing to inhibit appreciation of the vast technical prowess evident throughout. Both sides have been struck to perfection, lacking not even a shred of definition at any of the eagle's breast feathers. Flashy, mirrored fields ensure strong cameo effect which might well have elicited some "ultra" consideration. The fields generally do not show any of the fleeting hairlines typical of the grade level, but an area directly in front of Liberty's nose has become grazed by some unknown contact.
