A truly sensational GEM example of this final year for the series! Visually, this PR65 is worthy of its coveted "*" designation at NGC. The obverse of this highly reflective beauty offers a full cameo contrast. The details are sharply struck up and have full white frost on them. A beautiful halo of blue and gold toning frame the brilliantly flashy, glass-like mirrors on the obverse. The reverse mirrors are likewise watery, but have much more depth to the overtone of blue and rose tones. The eye appeal is very strong, so it is easy to overlook the ancient lines on Liberty's torso. A delightful GEM that will be a real prize for the Seated dollar collector. Only 600 Proofs were struck. PCGS 12, NGC 14, CAC 2. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $16,000 and in our November 2018 Regency Auction, this GEM brought $12,925; prior to that, it sold for $12,000 in the 2018 ANA auction.
