详细说明: After the horrors of the Civil War, the nation's wounds were deep and a new motto, appealing to the national faith was added to the reverses of the quarter, half dollar, dollar, half eagle, eagle, and double eagle for the first time in 1866. This is a very CHOICE Proof example, offering a deep, watery reflective finish to the glassy smooth fields that contrast boldly against the sharply struck and thickly frosted devices. The cameo effect is sensational. There is a blush of the faintest iridescent silver/white toning that can be seen on both sides as you rotate this near-Gem in a light. Only 725 Proofs were struck. PCGS 18, NGC 19. This was the most recent NGC-graded example to sell, realizing $4,560 in the 2021 ANA auction.
