This is quite an exceptional GEM example of the first Matte Proof. Remarkably well preserved with gorgeous color, it is little wonder that the late, great collector Gene Gardner chose this example for his world class collection. Still housed in its "no line, NGC fatty" holder, the surfaces are awash in brilliant red and subtle magenta and gold accents that are truly a delight to behold. PCGS 45, NGC 8, CAC 17. Our consignor bought this PQ GEM for $3,290 in June 2014 and the current Collectors Universe value is $3,000. We know that this amazing example will bring strong bidding when it crosses the block.
