Very rare in any grade, the 72-CC dollar had a mintage of only 3,150, and most are well circulated, having spent ages in wild west commerce at a time when collectors paid little mind to branch mint issues. A light gold patina is seen on both sides of this moderately worn VF25. The surfaces show just some light ticks and marks from an extended stay in commercial channels. There are no serious issues of any kind and the eye appeal is very pleasing for the assigned grade. PCGS 17, NGC 5. There has not been a VF25 sold since April 2017; we note a VF30 sold for $4,200 in August 2022. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $5,000. This eye appealing example is a tangible link to the wild west, and in this grade, is a very popular issue for collectors. Cert. Number 21612650 PCGS # 6969
