A truly fabulous example of this so-called overdate three cent silver. This is thensole PR66+ and there is just a single PR67+ graded higher in the non-CAM designation. Walter Breen called this an overdate, and at one time it was listed in the Red Book; more recent scholarship and study by Kevin Flynn suggests this is a repunched date, not a true overdate and it has been delisted from the Red Book. This is a very pleasing example, everything about this coin is impressive. The mirrors are deep and highly reflective with great clarity. There are no problems of any kind to be found, and that’s to be expected for a borderline SUPERB GEM! The obverse is completely covered by a vibrant, original deep teal-blue and lilac-violet mix that is evenly distributed over amazingly brilliant mirrors. The astonishing color and deep mirrors delight the eye with its impressive visual allure! Only 600 Proofs were struck. PCGS 5, NGC 0, CAC 4. This is the SOLE PR66+ graded by PCGS, and just the PR67+ ex Legend Collection coin is graded higher in the designation. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $11,000. A world class Proof trime worthy of a world class set! We expect very strong bidding for this beautiful GEM! Cert. Number 39708503 PCGS # 3720
