Bold RED cartwheel luster rolls under a delicate layer of violet and muted chocolate iridescent toning, bringing the surfaces to vivid life! The only striking weakness we can see is the word WE in the central portion of the ribbon; every other detail is sharp and crisp. This is the FINEST graded FS-102 Doubled Die Obverse. The devices on the right side of the obverse including the shield, leaves, arrow, and TRUST are all doubled. PCGS 1, NGC 1. CAC does not differentiate between varieties, and all told, they have assigned a green bean to 35 1865 2C pieces in MS66 RB. The only record we can find was for a NON-CAC NGC MS66 RB that sold in June 2016 for $1,410 (variety was not noted on the holder). This coin has a far superior look and should sell for more. The current Collector's Universe value for a regular MS66 RB is $1,600 and we think this coin could well bring more for its great looks and its interest as a variety. Cert.
