- 1866 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Motto. Proof-66 (PCGS). A lovely blending of magenta and teal iridescence illuminates the obverse of this premium Gem Proof half dollar, complementing the icy blue radiance on the reverse. The razor sharp strike has produced richly frosted devices emerging from reflective fields on both sides. Absolutely dazzling and worthy of a premium bid. This is the first Liberty Seated half dollar that includes the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse, and these were struck to the extent of 725 Proofs. The present example is one of the absolute finest certified, and tied with a few others at this incredible grade level. A fantastic representative of this prized issue. PCGS# 6424. NGC ID: 27TZ.
