This is another Barber quarter date in Proof that RARELY appears at auction, a coin that the population data makes seem way more common than it is. Glassy, watery mirrors gleam and are perfectly icy and smooth. Sharply struck and deeply toned, the eye appeal is wonderful and we cannot understand why CAC didn't sticker this one. Only 650 Proofs were struck. PCGS 22, NGC 24. The most recent PCGS-graded examples to sell in auction were all CAC approved, with the last one to sell bringing $3,643 in April 2017. None have sold since, and 2.5 years had passed since the one before that sold. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $3,250 and only 11 have graded finer, and this one will truly delight any collector. Cert. Number 38709862 PCGS # 5695.00
