THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION Only 3,000 $3 gold pieces were struck for circulation in 1879. This is a vividly brilliant and boldly lustrous example! Flashy, semi-Prooflike reflective luster in the fields beam on both sides of this very CHOICE example. A moderate cameo-like contrast can be seen particularly on the obverse. The reflective nature of the surfaces slightly exaggerates the tiny, insignificant contact marks in the fields, none of which have any impact on the outstanding eye appeal. PCGS 115, NGC 36, CAC 11. There are just 8 in MS63+. The last PCGS MS63+ CAC sold in October 2019. Today, the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,000 and the CAC CPG value in MS63 is $8,620.
