- 1880 Morgan Silver Dollar. VAM-6. Top 100 Variety. Second 8/7, Spikes Overdate. MS-63 (NGC). This is one of the interesting overdate varieties with the "ear" of a 7 above the second 8 in the date. The surfaces have frosty silver luster beneath rich antique-gold, rose-gray, and iridescent toning on the obverse. The reverse is mostly brilliant and lustrous with some similar color at the rim.
