- Everything about this coin is great! It is fully prooflike and does have strong cameo contrast (most of the lower mintage pieces like this are PL). Because the mirrors are so vivid you can see one little cut in the left obverse field. There are also Mint made die clashes and some die polishing lines visible (they do NOT detract). The color is an original bright gold. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and all the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! ONLY 7,100 were minted. PCGS 16, NGC 13, CAC 7. In MS64+ PCGS has graded only 3 coins. One did sell for $3,105 back in March 2012 -nearly FIVE years ago! You rarely see any MS 1866 G$1 ever offered. Opportunity knocks loud here. Good luck!
