A marvelous SUPERB GEM, tied for FINEST in the designation for the date at PCGS. Watery mirrors are a delight to behold. The reflection is deep, bold, beaming and brilliant, and the surfaces are the epitome of perfection. The fields are sleek and smooth, like a fresh sheet of ice. A dusting of the palest patina can be seen on both sides, particularly colorful at the upper reverse rim. A truly wonderful example. Only 975 Proofs were struck. PCGS 4, NGC 5, CAC 2. This is the coin that sold back in April 2012 for $9,488. The current CAC CPG value is $10,500 and the PCGS Price Guide is $8,750.
