- Well struck with medium orange-rose gold toning. Surfaces exhibit the granular frosty luster characteristic of this date. Devices are sharp and the “D" mintmark is double punched, not uncommon for this issue. PCGS 283, NGC 159. The current Collectors Universe value is $3,000. The most recent auction for an NGC graded coin was $2,880 in February 2020. Considered common in the lower Mint State grades, this date becomes much tougher in MS64 or better.
