- Key Date 1871-CC Silver Dollar Second Rarest of the Four CC-Mint Liberty Seated Issues 1871-CC Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-1, the only known dies. Top 30 Variety. Rarity-4+. Misplaced Date. EF-40 (PCGS). Offered is a significant Extremely Fine survivor of an early Carson City Mint issue that is elusive even in well worn condition. Warmly toned in medium silver and pearl-gray, the surfaces display iridescent champagne-pink and powder blue undertones. The strike is a bit soft around the obverse periphery, not uncommon for the type, but with just light wear there is plenty of bold to sharp detail remaining in other areas. Wispy handling marks are noted for accuracy, as is a faint pin scratch in the right obverse field. The rarity of this issue and extreme popularity of the Carson City Mint with advanced numismatists guarantee that this PCGS EF-40 coin will receive a warm reception from bidders. PCGS# 6967.
