- 1858 Liberty Double Eagle. MS-60 (NGC). Trailing only the 1859 in terms of rarity among P-mint Double Eagles from the 1850s, the 1858 has a limited mintage of just 211,714 pieces. We offer here a conditionally rare BU that is just shy of Condition Census standing. Modestly semi-prooflike in finish, both sides exhibit even medium-gold color and a sharply executed strike. Scattered abrasions are a few light scuffs to the obverse are commensurate with the grade.
