- Lot 330 1808 S-278 R3. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. CAC.Frosty light to medium steel and chocolate brown. Mint luster covers the protected areas on both sides. Looks mint state, especially on the reverse, but there are a few contact marks including an arc of nicks through stars 2-4 and a line of 4 small but obvious pinpricks near the dentils at the bottom of the reverse. MDS, Breen state IV, with flowlines on both sides and die failure in the dentils at star 13 and below the date. Graded AU55 net AU50 and tied for CC#13 in the Noyes census, his photo #58317. Bland says net AU50. Our grade is net AU50. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Nancy and Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
