- On Target Collection. Modestly prooflike as is often seen for this low-mintage Civil War issue, shallow details on the upper reverse quickly separate the coin from true proof strikings, although freshened dies likely claim some responsibility for the cameo effect. Then again, proof dies were used to produce circulation strikes. Eggshell-white overall, and struck off a doubled reverse die (as are all 1864s).
