FROM THE ROADRUNNER COLLECTION WOW! A spectacular SUPERB GEM CAMEO example of this IMPORTANT, PROOF ONLY, key date! This is one of the freshest and nicest NON dipped 1895 Proof Morgans we have ever seen! It is more than worthy of the + PCGS has designated it with. Deep mirrors beam powerfully all over, and they are SHEER PERFECTION! Perfectly clean and offering great clarity. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a deep "watery" roll with intense reflection. GEM original colors of blue/deep champagne/lime/gold colors swirl all over. Its clear that another coin was sitting on top of the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick frosting. The eye appeal is mind blowing! While the mint reports that 12,000 silver dollars were struck for circulation, NONE are known today. Theories abound, that either they were not actually struck, or if they were, they were stored in mint bags and melted in 1918 during the mass meltings of silver dollars under the Pittman Act. As such, the 1895 is a date sought not just by those collecting Proof Morgan dollars, but by anyone working on a complete date and mint set.
