- A first class example of this conditionally rare date Barber half. Indeed this PQ GEM is among the top 10 graded at PCGS. Richly lustrous surfaces gleam all over enlivening the beautifully toned surfaces. Incredible hues of green, orange, gold, lilac, and magenta toning cover both obverse and reverse. Overall the strike is bold with just a hint of the slightest softness on the reverse. A strong glass will aid in the location of some minor ticks, which preclude an even loftier grade, but the eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 13, NGC 4, CAC 11. There are 5 in MS66+ and just five finer. The most recent sold for $3,720 in June 2020; this coin sold nearly five years ago for $4,230. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,250.
