1857-S Gold Dollar. EF-40 (NGC). From a mintage of just 10,000 pieces comes this lightly circulated, boldly defined survivor. Warm khaki-orange patina, with considerable satiny luster discernible as the surfaces dip into a light. Produced in limited numbers, as previously stated, and also heavily circulated as an issue, the 1857-S gold dollar is a find in all grades, especially when problem free.
