1797 Draped Bust Cent. S-138. Rarity-1. Noyes Die State A. Reverse of 1797, With Stems. AU-55 (PCGS). Handsome for the two-toned appearance of the fields against the devices, which show as slightly lighter brown in color. The surfaces are smooth and there are no bumps on the edge and just a couple of shallow keg marks on the coin. For identification there is a small nick between the 97. Most of these early cents circulated long and hard, the vast majority show varying degrees of corrosion or pitting, and finding a high grade example, with smooth copper surfaces is truly a delight.
