- FROM THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION PART III Ex Denali Collection, as noted on the insert. This is a GORGEOUS GEM example of this VERY RARE pattern. It is also an interesting example of how designations change over time as more research and scholarship changes. In earlier editions of the Judd reference, J-929a was listed, thinking it was a separate variant with the letters of LIBERTY on the ribbon incuse, rather than raised. It has been determined that all examples from this issue have the letters raised, and in the 10th edition of Judd and uspatterns.com, the J-929a has been removed from the listings. Struck from the same dies as lot 106, it is a Rarity-7+, and this one, in PR66 RD CAM is the FINEST of all J-929. Ultra brilliant and flashy mirrors beam all over this gorgeous GEM. Everything is Premium Quality. Subtle accents of toning come out in a bright light, but they are all shades of RED. The devices are thickly frosted, imparting a stunning CAMEO contrast on both sides. The eye appeal is stone bold original and AMAZING. Ex. Stack's 1971 ANA auction, August 1971, lot 464; Faraday Collection, Heritage, July 1994, lot 6136; Denali Collection; Legend Numismatics fixed price list, ca. 2010, at $23,500; Heritage, FUN sale, January 2017, lot 6160. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $12,000, but it would not be a shock to us if in today's market, this sensational GEM passed that level in the dust! Think about what this coin is-a design that was proposed that never made the cut. And its in an off metal too. You can't buy a better one! We think a coin like this is grossly over looked in today's fast paced market. A truly amazing opportunity for the advanced pattern collector. Cert. Number 6645147 PCGS # 800053
