1877-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-102. Tail Hub Variety I. Medium CC. MS-66 (NGC). Vying with the 1876-CC as the most plentiful Carson City Mint Half Dollar, the 1877-CC is widely regarded as a mintmarked type coin in most grades. As a premium-quality Gem, however, the conditionally rare nature of this issue cannot be denied. We offer here one of the finest-certified examples, a coin with richly toned surfaces that are particularly vivid on the reverse. That side exhibits bulls-eye toning in olive-gold, cobalt-blue and rose-apricot iridescence, while the obverse is drenched in mostly steel-olive patina. Virtually full in strike, with smooth-looking surfaces and good vibrancy to the underlying luster.
