A flashy and highly reflective GEM Proof gold dollar. Struck during the final year of the denomination, this coin was saved in nearly pristine condition. Struck later on in the die life, there is light contrast, but not enough for PCGS to have designated it a CAM. The fields have a great orange-peal texture and the devices are nicely frosted. The eye appeal is nice and these are not frequently sold in auction. PCGS 9, NGC 1. The last one sold nearly a DECADE ago, selling for $8,625 in November 2008. Before that, they were selling closer to $10,000. The current CU value is listed at $11,000. An affordable GEM Proof gold coin, worthy of any collector. Good luck in bidding! Cert.
