A beautiful and totally original GEM Proof Barber quarter. Brilliant, boldly reflective, watery mirrored fields boom from below a rich patina. Rich lilac, powder blue, and rose-gold color dominates both sides with the reverse boasting an intriguing dappled pattern. There are a few tiny lines seen hidden below the toning, but they are appropriate for the assigned grade. The eye appeal is unmarred and quite nice! Only 731 Proofs were struck. PCGS 28, NGC 29. Clearly CAC is tough on these, as only 4 have ever beaned. Do not let the Pops fool you: while three sold in 2020, you have to go back to 2014 to get another PCGS PR66 selling in auction. The current Collectors Universe value is $1,800. Just 14 are graded higher. A neat GEM obsolete, low mintage Barber Proof that, fundamentally, just seems too cheap in today's market. Cert.
