- GUATEMALA. Royal Academy of Art Silver Award Medal, ND (ca. 1788-1808). PCGS SPECIMEN-58. Fonrobert-Unlisted. For 2nd prize. Diameter: 35mm. Obverse: numeral "IIII" in wreath, crowned, surrounded by legend; Reverse: legend within wreath. Undoubtedly SCARCE, this lightly handled 2nd prize merit award was given a pupil of the Royal Academy of Art in Guatemala in the reign of Charles IV. The surfaces display sharp elegant detail and lovely mottled toning with light gray and vibrant amber hues. The fields exhibit various minor contact marks but are brilliantly lustrous.
