- FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION What a MONSTER! Clearly among the FINEST KNOWN of the date, this SUPERB GEM is the second HIGHEST graded at PCGS, with just four in PR68 CAM graded higher. This coin is truly gorgeous! One look and you will fall in love! Incredibly smooth, flashy, watery mirrors gleam boldly in the light. They have a glassy texture that is icy, sleek and uber clean! Both sides display frosted well struck devices, creating a bold cameo contrast between the fields and reliefs. The obverse has a warm rosy peach patina in the center and to the left field and periphery, deepening to lilac, magenta, and violet on the right side. The reverse has dramatic sunset like concentric rings of deep orange, purple, magenta, and brilliant gold that light up the eagle! The look is so cool and totally original. This coin was certainly put away at the time of issue 120 years ago and was allowed to tone up beautifully thanks to ages of benign neglect; what a visual stunner! The 1892 Proof Morgan dollar is an interesting issue. A relatively large number of Proofs were struck, 1,245 were produced for collectors. However, the majority of examples are clustered at the PR64 grade level, and are certainly VERY RARE in this lofty state of preservation! PCGS 4, NGC 16, CAC 4. This is the ONLY PR67+ CAM and it sold in a weak market (August 2016) for $27,025. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $32,000 and in today's stronger market, we think it will certainly bring close to that level when the hammer falls. Good luck! Cert. Number 25219661 PCGS # 87327
