- 1885 Gold Dollar. Proof-62 Cameo (NGC). CAC. Satiny in texture with a razor sharp strike, the devices contrast markedly with deeply mirrored fields. Beautiful golden-orange patina blankets both sides and further enhances eye appeal that is superior relative to assigned numeric grade. As one of the more frequently encountered Proof gold dollars in today's market, the 1885 is an excellent candidate for inclusion in a specimen type set. Mintage: 1,105 Proofs.
