- 1843-O Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101, the only known dies. VF-25 (NGC). Deep golden-gray with pale rose -gray highlights. Evenly worn with no readily seen marks for the unaided eye to dwell upon, even under low magnification. The broad and problem-free rims add a cameo-like appearance to the coin. Elusive in all grades, and to date, no Mint State 1843-O dimes have been certified by NGC. Choice for the grade. NGC Census: 12 in all VF grades; 9 finer (AU-58 finest). PCGS# 4584.
